Rohit Sharma's 35-ball century powers India to record 260/5 against Sri Lanka (22-Dec-17)

Rohit Sharma is enjoying a fabulous run towards the end of 2017. After slamming the third double hundred of his career in ODI cricket, Sharma hammered his second T20I hundred on Friday against Sri Lanka. His century, which came off just 35 balls, also saw him equal the record of the fastest T20I hundred. His blitzkrieg innings off 118 were laced with 10 sixes and 12 fours. He was eventually dismissed for 118 (43 balls) by Akila Dananjaya off Dushmantha Chameera on the fourth ball of the 13th over. Rohit’s hundred is also the fastest T20I century by an Indian.  Along with KL Rahul, he added 165 runs for the opening wicket and powered India’s total to 260. David Miller had also achieved the same feat against Bangladesh at Potchefstroom a few months ago. Not only has the Hitman’s innings left cricketing fraternity in awe and wonder but also left Twitterati in a tizzy.

Perera: It's a tough series for us. Too big a target to chase. Tharanga and Kusal batted very well, giving us momentum, but others couldn't execute. Mathews is now out of the series due to his hamstring problem.

Kuldeep: First three overs 45 runs, but I was always thinking about wickets. I knew if I got one, I would probably get the second one. The first over (I bowled) was slow in the air, but the wicket was good to bat on and the ball was coming on nicely. Later on I was bowling wide of the batsman. I realized that I need to bowl it into the wicket. They (Dhoni and Rohit) were backing me and telling to look for the wicket. Small ground with small boundaries, Dhoni and Rohit were telling me to keep away from the batsman and try the variations outside the off-stump. Seven wickets in three overs really changed the game.
